Members often tell us they wish they started planning for retirement much earlier. Don’t let that happen to you! This summer, to help active members take a proactive approach to retirement planning, NYSTRS presents the Pension & Retirement Education Program (PREP).
The half-day PREP seminar, which is free and held throughout the state, covers a range of topics: NYSTRS benefits, financial planning, Social Security, estate planning and the retirement process. Designed to educate members of all ages and career stages, the seminar helps members understand their NYSTRS benefits and how their future pension can work as the foundation of their overall retirement picture.
