MyNYSTRS Gets a New Look

(July 10, 2009) – A fresh modern look, easy navigation and self-service tools are the hallmarks of the newly designed MyNYSTRS.

It has never been easier to access your information on your schedule, thanks to MyNYSTRS.  Registered users can access their personal Retirement System benefit information and use our online tools in this portion of our Web site.

The goal of the redesign was to improve our members’ experience online by making it easier to find their personal information and better understand its importance to their retirement. Toward that end, the design features three main tabs, or sections: My Retirement; My Tools; and, Manage Account.

Under the My Retirement tab, users can locate the basics about their membership. Active members can view their service credit, beneficiary, contribution and loan information, as well as their Benefit Profile. Retired members, meanwhile, can view their benefit payment information, Retired Member Profile, and service credit and final average salary.  New retirees can use this section to track the progress of their retirement application as it is processed.

The self-service tools available under the My Tools tab include the Change Address function and Schedule Appointments page where you can schedule a benefits consultation with a System representative. Active members can also use this tool to reserve a seat at a Retirement Planning Seminar; moreover, they may calculate a loan and apply online under the My Tools tab. Additional self-service tools are being developed and will be added soon.

Lastly, under the Manage Account tab users can change their username; password; security question and answer; MyNYSTRS contact preference (e-mail or U.S. mail); and, e-mail address.

Take a tour of the new MyNYSTRS to see just how useful an account is: Active Member Tour | Retired Member Tour. Then register today to join the 45,000 members who are already accessing their information online.
